Deze kerk was oorspronkelijk gewijd aan H.Johannes, maar wordt nu gebruikt door de Nederlands Hervormde Gemeente.

De 15e eeuwse toren is grotendeels uit tufsteen opgetrokken en telt drie geledingen, waarop de bovenste vier wijzerplaten zijn aangebracht.

In een kamertje hieronder stond het oorspronkelijke uurwerk. Op dezelfde plek staat nu het laat 19e eeuwse Franse uurwerk in zijn glazen kast.

Het imposante uurwerk is uitgerust met Remontoire en heeft twee slagwerken. De drie enorme gewichten werden tot maart 2002 dagelijks met de hand opgewonden.

Nu doet het Clock Care System dit zware werk. Wel moet het uurwerk nog regelmatig worden gelijk gezet, maar als straks het Clock Care System in de 2e fase wordt uitgebreid, zal ook dat niet meer nodig zijn.

The Turret Clock of the Church in Heerde (Province of Gelderland)

This church was originally consecrated the Holy John, but is now utilised by the Dutch Reformed Church.

The 15th Century tower is largely built with tuff and consist in three sections, the upper one provided with the four dials. The originally turret clock was located in a small room below, replaced by a 19th Century French time keeper still in its glass panelled cabinet.

This impressive clock work is equipped with a Remontoire and has two striking works. The three enormous weights had to be wound manually until march 2002 every day. Now the Clock Care System takes over this heavy job.

Only for adjusting the hands one has to climb the staircase regularly, but after upgrading the Clock Care System with its "Pendulum Catcher" next year, this won't be necessary any more. This same "Pendulum Catcher" will consequently monitoring the old Turret Clock continuously in its proper functioning.
